Anatis is an industrial package-builder made up of about ten motivated shareholders, whose ambition is to become a leader in Belgium for small and medium power agricultural biomethanation units (from 10 electrical kilowatts for small units up to between 100 and 1,000 electrical kilowatts for medium-sized units). The objective is to offer standardized installations of professional quality , irrespective of the power supplied. In addition, Anatis accompanies operators throughout the process: from preparing files, and commissioning installations, through to normal operation, it offers them both essential advice and monitoring for the different parameters that guarantee permanent trouble-free operation. This is what makes Anatis different from other entrepreneurs.

This is a natural process that produces methane by bacterial action. Bacteria transform organic matter in an anaerobic atmosphere (no air, no oxygen) by the combined action of several types of micro-organism, which act in 3 main phases.

The conditions needed for anaerobic digestion are :
  • Anaerobiosis (absence of air)
  • Adequate temperature conditions: approximately 37°C
  • A pH of between 6.6 and 7.6
  • A C/N ratio (carbon/nitrogen ratio) of between 15 and 30.
If these conditions are met we shall see biogas being produced, mainly comprised of methane (60% CH4, 40% CO2) which, in this case, is non-fossil fuel. The gas is then transformed via a cogeneration motor, into electricity and heat. In parallel to this supply of energy, digestate is also produced for use in agriculture as high value fertilizer. Besides these qualities, which enable it to replace normal fertilizer very favourably, the main benefit of digestate is that it is odourless.


Disposing of the necessary technologies to process all agricultural waste (dung, liquid manure, ...), Anatis has completed several installations and is now studying several projects ranging from 10kW electricity to more than 400kW.

The strong point of Anatis is its exclusive process for the treatment of liquid organic effluent (liquid manure, …), developed and patented in partnership with the Eloy Water company. This patented Anyole® process consists in the biomethanation of complex liquefiable solid matter (livestock effluents). Its effectiveness lies in the setting up of a hydraulic system with differential flow rates allowing the stimulation of different microbial consortia. With its compact design and modularity, this technology presents low investment cost. These products are now known for their liquid manure processing performance on the farm.

Anatis thus offers a simple, discrete micro-biomethanation unit that does not require planning permission, including buried Anyole® tanks, a post-digestion pouch, an industrial cogeneration unit (running at 1 500 rpm) its regulation and the connections for bio-gas, electricity and liquid manure. The heat produced by cogeneration can yield added value through the production of hot water of heat.

An ideal solution for small farms, it can ensure with 10 kW electric the annual production of:

• 80,000 kWh / year of electricity, covering more than your own consumption

• 80,000 kWh / year of heat, corresponding to 8,000 liters of fuel oil or 8,000m3 of natural gas. This heat is used for your heating, the production of hot water or the drying of fodder, wood ... in summer.

The installation is delivered completely prefabricated in three parts: the patented ANYOLE® unit, the technical unit (cogeneration with built-in management of the installation, including internet connection), the post-digestion bag. The electrical connection is made on the farm switch board, without the need to connect to a high voltage cabin.

This type of bio-methanisation does not require a building permit.
